The Nicaraguan department of Granada contains the town and municipality of Nandaime.
The little town of Nandaime is located in the country's southwest. It is situated 20 kilometers from the departmental headquarters of Granada and 67 kilometers from the capital of the Republic of Nicaragua, Managua, on the Panamerican route that runs across the Pacific region of Nicaragua. San Joaquin and St. Anne are the patron saints. On October 29, 1890, it became a city.Nandaime is a combination of the Chorotega word "nanda" (which means "arroyo" or stream) and the suffix "-ime" (which means abundance). "Place of abundant streams" is what Nandaime signifies.
